Nagpur: The newly-elected Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde, who used to drive an auto-rickshaw in his younger days took a jibe at former chief minister #UddhavThackeray on Tuesday.

Shinde took a dog to Thackeray and said that an autorickshaw has outpaced a #Mercedescar. “Autorickshaw outpaced Mercedes because this is a government for the common man,” he tweeted in Marathi. He added that the newly-formed government will perform in a way that everyone feels is their government.

The rebel Sena leader was taunted as an ‘autorickshaw driver’ by a few Shiv Sena leaders while he was leading the revolt.

Shinde is considered to be the man who changed the political map of Maharashtra overnight. The #chiefminister has come a long way since his days as a rickshaw driver in Thane. He came to #Mumbai in his teenage days and rose in #ShivSena after launching a labor union for the party.

He was sworn in as the chief minister of #Maharashtra on June 30 with the former chief minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis as his deputy, just a day after Thackeray stepped down from chief minister’s post.
