Apple on Monday announced that it will begin manufacturing of its best-selling iPhone 13 in India at a Foxconn plant near Chennai.
According to a source, the phone will be manufactured at a local plant of Apple’s Taiwanese contract manufacturer Foxconn in the town of Sriperumbudur in the state of Southern Tamil Nadu.

“We are excited to begin making iPhone 13 – with its beautiful design, advance camera systems for stunning photos and videos, and the incredible performance of the A15 Bionic chip – right here in India for our local customers,” Apple said in a statement shared with IANS.

Following the spread of the news, the following questions have arisen:

  1. Will the price of the iPhone 13 drop once it is manufactured in India?

According to reports, there may or may not be a price cut regardless of whether or not the iPhone 13 is manufactured in India.

  1. Why isn’t the iPhone 13 Pro series made in India right now?

One could argue that the pro series is not manufactured in India because demand for the variants is relatively low in comparison to other models.

  1. Will Apple sell iPhones manufactured in India outside of the country?

The answer is no. The iPhones made in India will only meet the country’s domestic demand.
