On December 24, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima released their Christmas 2021 card via social media.The photo on the card shows the King and Queen with their three daughters, princesses Amalia, Alexia and Ariane at Huis ten Bosch Palace. The message on the card is “Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous new year”.

Christmas is a time of traditions. At the Royal family it is tradition that on Christmas Eve the Christmas tree is decorated and the candles are lit. The King lights a candle in the family tree at Huis ten Bosch Palace.
