In Mumbai, BMC commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal announced that schools will remain closed till December 15 due to the newly-discovered variant threat. Pune Mayor Murlidhar Mohol also made the announcement saying that in view of the new variant of Covid-19 – Omicron schools will not reopen from December 1 and will remain closed till 15th of this month.
