According to reports, Kerala added over 400 backlog deaths and over 9,000 Covid-19 cases. The state has reportedly started adding the ‘missing’ or undeclared Covid-19 deaths. This development comes after state health minister Veena George announced in the assembly that around 7,000 ‘missing’ deaths would be added.

On Friday, Kerala added 464 fatalities to its tally which were not mentioned in the official list. The state health department claimed that the toll has increased to 27,765 after the addition of 292 deaths until June 14 that were not treated as Covid-19 related due to insufficient documents and the remaining 172 were added based on the Centre’s revised guidelines.
