Disgruntled Amarinder Singh to launch form his party ahead of polls

Nagpur: Just ahead of the Punjab polls in 2022, former chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday announced that he will be forming a new political party.

While addressing a media briefing, Singh said “Yes, I will be forming a new party. The name will be announced once the election commission clears it, along with the symbol. My lawyers are working on it.” Singh also claimed that he has not talked to the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) or Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt) With Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa as of now but there can be a possibility of seat-sharing.

The former chief minister said that they have got many people with them and will fight for all 117 seats. He added, “We will have plenty of Congressmen coming in.” Singh also presented a report card of his tenure and showed the promises he made and how he manifested most of them. “In the course of 4.5 years as a chief minister of Punjab, I have delivered more than 90 per cent of the promises made back in 2017.”

Disgruntled Singh is all set to meet Union home minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Thursday. Commenting about Navjyot Singh Sidhu, he said that we will fight him wherever he contests from. On the other hand, Sidhu took to twitter and launched a scathing attack on the former chief minister, claiming that he sold the interests of the state to save his own skin.
