Nagpur: The Union Budget 2022-23 has allocated a whopping amount of Rs 2,600 crore to the Housing and Urban Affairs ministry for the construction of non-residential office buildings in the Central Vista project.

The ongoing project in Delhi has received Rs 767.56 crore in the budget 2022, more than Rs 1833.43 crore received in the last fiscal. The ministry, for residential purposes, has been given Rs 873.02 crore. The project is aimed at revamping the nation’s power corridor and setting up new structures for the apex buildings of the country, including the Supreme court and parliament.

The redevelopment project comprises a common central secretariat, a new triangular parliament building, revamping of the 3km-long Rajpath boulevard, new official residence of the prime minister and new vice president’s enclave. Currently, six infra giants including Tata, Shapoorji and L&T are in the race to win the contract to build the exclusive enclave, which will house the new prime minister’s office, cabinet secretariat, India house as well as National security council secretariat.
