Nagpur: After witnessing a significant drop in daily Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra, health minister Rajesh Tope on Thursday said that the government has eased Covid-19 restrictions in the recent past but people shouldn’t let their guards down and should continue wearing a face mask.

While addressing the reporters in Kolhapur, Tope cleared that there is no need to impose more curbs or restrictions in the coming days. Tope further said, “The Maharashtra government has introduced many relaxations in the last few weeks and it will introduce more in coming days. However, it does not mean that people need not wear masks in the coming days.”

Recently, a lot of countries have lifted the order of making face masks mandatory at indoor places, speaking about that, Tope said that the decision of some western countries needs to be studied scientifically. “There had been no discussion on making Maharashtra mask-free. People should continue to wear masks and follow other precautionary measures,” he added.
