Nagpur: Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Sunday hit out at the rebel MLAs camping in Guwahati and called them ‘living corpses.’

Raut also said that their ‘souls are dead.’ While addressing the party workers in Mumbai, Raut said, “40 MLAs in Guwahati are living corpses and their souls are dead. Their bodies will be directly sent to the Assembly for post-mortem as soon as they return. They know what can happen in the fire that has been lit.”

Meanwhile, cabinet minister Aditya Thackeray on Sunday claimed that chief minister Uddhav Thackeray on June 20 asked rebel Sena MLA Eknath Shinde to become the chief minister if he wants to. Junior Thackeray further termed the rebels as ‘traitors’ and said that Maharashtra will never forget those who have betrayed Shiv Sena. He also said that it is good that some dirt has gone away from the party.

The cabinet minister said, “This is happening for the first time in the state that the ruling party MLAs left the party to sit in the opposition. People are telling their numbers but I want to say that we have the figures. I challenge them to resign and contest the elections. The truth will come out.”

NCP chief Sharad Pawar while addressing the media said that Shinde and other MLAs were there with the NCP government and never had any problem. “They did not have any problems in the last 2.5 years. Why is it happening today? We will support Uddhav Thackeray till the last minute.”
