Catering establishments that opened their doors on Saturday despite the corona rules have been warned by the municipality of Utrecht. “If they do not close, they can be fined 4000 euros,” confirms spokesman for mayor Sharon Dijksma.

Law enforcement officers have asked, among others, restaurants Sanju Ramen and Gys to close again. Sanju Ramen co-owner Mohammad Kashani says he has been asked to close the business before 3 p.m. The boas have also emphasized that he risks a fine of 4000 euros.

According to RTV Utrecht, café ‘t College is the first catering business to be closed on Saturday. After the visit of the enforcers, the cafe closed at 1 p.m.

Kashani hopes to keep his restaurant open until its stated closing time at 5pm. “We demonstrate in our case.” In its own words, Sanju Ramen does not sell anything. “Everything is free.”
