Nagpur: Maharashtra cabinet minister Aditya Thackeray on Tuesday was asked to step out of chief minister Uddhav Thackeray’s car while receiving Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Mumbai.

Prime Minister’s security asked junior Thackeray to get off the chief minister’s car as his name was reportedly not present in the VIPs list who were supposed to receive Modi at the airport. According to several other reports, the Maha chief minister was upset over the treatment offered to his son.

Uddhav Thackeray later lashed out at the security officials and said that Aditya was not just his son but also the cabinet minister of the state and hence should be allowed in the same car. The chief minister later shared the stage with the prime minister at two different events.

Meanwhile, the NCP alleged that Deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar was not allowed to speak at the inauguration of the Shila (rock) temple at Sant Tukaram Maharaj Mandir in Dehu in presence of Narendra Modi.

Only two people spoke at the event which was attended by 50,000 people. Leader of Opposition Devendra Fadnavis and chief trustee of Dehu temple trust Nitin More were allowed to speak for three minutes each.

NCP leader and Ajit Pawar’s cousin Supriya Sule said that not letting the deputy chief minister speak was ‘an insult to the state.’ While speaking to the reporters, Sule said, “Ajit Pawar’s office had requested (the PMO) that he be allowed to speak at the event as he is the deputy CM and also the guardian minister of Pune district. The PMO did not approve it.”
