People who suffer a cardiac arrest can receive help within 6 minutes throughout the Netherlands.

A special device – an AED – tries to make their hearts beat again. This is called CPR.

The Heart Foundation is very happy that there are now many of these types of devices throughout the Netherlands and volunteers who come to bring the device if necessary.

In the event of a cardiac arrest, it is important that someone gets help as soon as possible.

According to the foundation, the Netherlands is the first country where volunteers are ready to help people in so many places.

If someone a cardiac arrest it is important to call 112 as soon as possible. Aid workers there send an ambulance and in the meantime a volunteer is called in to help.
