Nagpur: Just a few days ahead of former Mumbai top cop Param Bir Singh’s appearance before a Maharashtra government-appointed Commission of inquiry, it is speculated that Singh has fled India.

According to several reports, it is speculated that Singh has fled to the United Kingdom or Russia. Maharashtra Home minister Dilip Walse Patil said that former Mumbai commissioner who’s handling the bomb scare near the home of Mukesh Ambani earlier this year has raised questions and is facing a series of extortion cases is currently missing.

“Along with the Union Home ministry, we are also searching for his whereabouts,” Walse added. He further claimed that he’s heard something like that but as a government officer, he cannot go abroad without any government clearance. “We have issued a lookout circular and if he went away, then it is not good,” Patil added.

“Whether it is a minister, officer or even a chief minister, there are limitations and without permission of the central government, one cannot go outside the country,” the home minister added.

On February 25, an SUV with gelatin sticks was found at Carmichael road near Mukesh Ambani’s residence in Mumbai. The car was identified to be Mansukh Hiren’s whose body was found in Kalwa creek in Thane. Dismissed police officer Sachin Waze was named as prime conspirator in the case of planting explosives. Waze was known to be a close aide of PBS and is said to have direct access to him.

Singh was transferred from the position of Mumbai police commissioner in March after Waze’s arrest by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
