Nagpur: In a sigh of relief, 11 districts in Vidarbha together reported 10 new cases on Thursday, lowest count since November 10. On the very same day, 10 patients recovered, which is the highest count in recoveries since November 13.

Vidarbha hasn’t recorded any deaths due to Covid-19 since the past six days. Increase in recoveries brought a relief as the region has been covid-19 cases in double digits since the past nine days. There has been no decrease in tests in the region. On Thursday, the daily test count surpassed the average 7,000-mark. Out of the 7,000 tests, only 10 turned out to be positive, pulling the positivity rate down to 0.25 per cent.

The overall condition in Vidarbha seems to be improving with more than 98 per cent recovery rate. 3,323 tests were conducted in Nagpur in the last 24 hours of which six turned positive. Five cases were reported in Nagpur city, while only one case was reported in the district. Active cases in Nagpur district rose to 61 as only one patient recovered on Thursday.

No new cases were reported in Wardha, Amravati, Bhandara, Gondia, Washim and Akola. A worrying situation seems to be in Chandrapur, where no recovery was reported and active cases stand at 21. Chandrapur has seen 1,543 deaths due to Covid-19.
