Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) after more than a year has allowed resumption of physical classes for students of class 8 to 12 from October 4. However, students will need their parents’ consent before resuming their physical classes.

The SoP issued by the NMC states that the staff is required to be fully vaccinated with both the doses of Covid-19 vaccine. Not just the teaching staff, the non-teaching staff as well is required to be fully vaccinated. The schools have been shut over 18 months due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The NMC also urged the schools to start a health clinic in their premises with regular screening of health and temperature of students as well as the staff. The schools have been directed to find doctors who can voluntarily work with their school management. The schools are also expected to register themselves with the health centres.

Not more than 15 to 20 students will be allowed in the class, with only one student per bench. The SoP issued has also encouraged students to walk to the school instead of using public transport to avoid infection chances. If at all a student is travelling through bus or private vehicle, only one student is allowed on one seat to maintain social distance.
Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishnan B has asked the schools to submit Covid-19 compliance report to the education department of Zilla Parishad and the NMC.
