Nagpur: The Maharashtra legislature’s Winter Assembly session is most likely to be postponed till January due to various factors.

Nagpur city is currently gearing up for the assembly session which is going to he held after two years. The session was cancelled since the last two years due to Covid-19 pandemic. According to a report citing sources, the elections of six MLC seats are the reason why code of conduct has been enforced in Nagpur till December 16.

Another reason in the delay of session is Chief minister Uddhav Thackeray’s surgery. He recently suffered an injury on his neck. According to a report by TOI, State water minister Jayant Patil said that winter session would be held in Nagpur only but it would not start on Decmeber 7, as proposed earlier. He added that the chief minister is recuperating and will take some time, it was decided in the cabinet to postpone the session for sometime.

Patil further added that the BAC would be taking a decision on this development. The much-awaited winter session was set to start in the city from December 7 to 17.
