11 Y/O raped by 9 men for a month, accused arrested

Nagpur: In a shocking incident, an 11-year-old girl was gang-raped multiple times by nine men in Maharashtra’s Nagpur.

As per media reports, the Umred police station cracked the case while investing a murder case and arrested nine persons. The accused raped the minor between June 19 and July 15.
On June 19, one of the accused, Roshan Kargaokar and his friend Gajanan Murskar took the victim to their neighborhood in the context of giving her domestic work and promising money for the same. The girl was later raped by them, as per the police.

The accused have been identified as Roshan Kargaonkar (29) and his friends/acquaintances – Gajanan Murskar (40), Premdas Gathibandhe (38), Rakesh Mahakalkar (24), Govinda Nate (22), Saurabh alias Karan Rithe (22), Nitesh Fukat (30), Pradumna Karutkar (22), and Nikhil alias Pinku Narule (24), the police said.

The 11-year-old victim’s parents are labourers and Karagokar lives near the minor girl, they said. The police produced the accused before the court which remanded them to police custody till July 30. Sub divisional police officer Pooja Gaikwad is investigating the case.
